Live Interview and Chat with ETERNAL FLIGHT on RAISE THE HORNS Sat, May 12th
Monday, May 07 2007

Eternal Flight are an amazing Prog / Power Metal Band from France.  Progmetal Angel will be interviewing lead singer Gerard Fois, who will be joining the rest of the band in chat to talk to the fans :).

Eternal Flight

This melodic Power/prog Metal band based in Annecy, France ( Near Switzerland and Italy, a + for touring and promoting the band) was formed in February 2001 around Gérard Fois an experienced singer who did previously 2 albums with Dream Child (whose 2nd album was released through Metal Blade Records). At that time he teamed up with guitarist Christophe Offredi and bass player Nicolas Jeanpierre and with drummer Arnaud Gorbaty (playing with Alkemyst signed to Nuclear Blast). Together they released a 1st demo in June 2002 that gained them recognition, concerts, good reviews and airplay worldwide and most importantly a deal with a label. Italian based label Cruz Del Sur Music (Pharaoh, Slough Feg, Ensoph, Widow etc) accepted in 2003 to licence a future album and both parties agreed to release it in October 2004. Then the band worked hard to work on songs that Gérard had written and also on new ones altogether around a line up, changed and completed in February 2003, by the arrival of Alexandre Stellini (drums) and Sébastien Vibert (keyboards). “Positive Rage” was recorded and mixed in Gérard’s home studio (Morphoenix) between February and July 2004 and the mastering was done by golden eared Luigi Stefanini (Labyrinth, Dark Moor) in New Sins Studios (Italy). For the artwork the band chose none other than the legendary Geoffrey Gillespie (Warlock, Doro, ELP). The overall quality of the product was here and album was distributed nearly all over Europe, USA, Canada and a licence was made with Japanese label Spiritual Beast (with 2 bonus tracks sang in French!). On the 1st months of the release they made some shows (2 alongside with Paragon) in France and again obtained many good reviews, interviews, tv appearances and airplay worldwide with album, but this time having the opportunity to reach bigger and more medias (Cruz sent 1000 promo copies worldwide!). As a result of this, they became one of the best selling act of the label, outselling some cd released at the same time. With these solid basis the band continued with the same strong and creative line-up working on their 2nd album on the 2nd half of 2006, recording and mixing 10 songs on Gérard's studio. The band is now dealing with labels and is preparing the release of the new album for 2007 and a tour that should take them in and out of France! Be prepared for a music of Elegant Force from Eternal Flight!!!

NAB STATEMENT ON INTRODUCTION OF THE INTERNET RADIO EQUALITY ACT
Tuesday, May 01 2007

WASHINGTON, DC - Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA) today introduced the Internet Radio Equality Act. According to a memo from Rep. Inslee's office, the bill will "reverse the recent [Copyright Royalty Board] decision and change the royalty rate-setting standard that applies to commercial Internet radio royalty arbitrations so that it is the same standard that applies to satellite radio. For public radio, the bill sets a royalty standard designed for noncommercial entities."

The following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President Dennis Wharton:

"NAB is reviewing details of Rep. Inslee's bill, which would overturn the Copyright Royalty Board's disappointing decision to dramatically raise fees for companies that stream music over the Internet. We will work with Congress to craft a solution that helps ensure the survival of a fledgling audio platform."
